Taking you away from the parks and the fast pace of Orlando.

I must have planned to visit celebration on around 4 holidays before we actually went to the place. Each time we would come up with an excuse. Oh the kids wont enjoy it there. Its taking away time from our days at the parks etc. But we sneaked a week in August in before our youngest turned one and my gosh it was so hot that the parks became unbearable. Sick of spending the afternoons cooling down in front of the in room air conditioning I suggested we actually do celebration this time.
Not realising how close it actually was to I-drive and the surrounding areas I was surprised by our short drive. I was even more surprised by the turn off from the 192 and how it felt like we had entered a totally different state. Its crazy how the beautiful small town of celebration is so different to the hustle and bustle of Orlando. It really feels like a world away.
As soon as we drove in and down celebration avenue I was just smitten with the place. Eyeing all the immaculately laid out houses and dreaming of living in any of them. How amazing it must be!
Parking we found so easy and we got a great spot right on the lake overlooking the Bohemian hotel and in front of the Woof Gang Bakery and Grooming and Kilwins which serves amazing chocolate, fudge and ice cream.
Traditional small American town shops are just quaint. Filled with beautiful items and lots of lovely things to take back for family and friends. Restaurants, bakeries and ice cream places that serve delicious food line the main street. You’ll also find their town hall, post office, bank and hospital.
There is everything there to serve its small community. From a hardware store to a bridal shop.
Market street gallery sells Disney collectables, swarovski crystals and gifts.
Once upon a time stocks beautiful children’s clothing while Soft as a grape has family casual wear.
We arrived in the late afternoon so felt our time was limited there. We hope to visit again this November and to really explore the place.
There are many different tours here on offer. You can choose to explore the place by Segway or bike or pay for a guided tour which will give you 2 hours to take in the lakes, pathways and wildlife. You’ll most probably even see a gator!
Don’t forget to grab something to eat there. We chose to have dinner in the charming diner that is Market street cafe. Its views of the lake are stunning and the food was so comforting and enjoyable.
We did notice the sweet escape bakery and cafe serving bread, sandwiches and European style pastries but decided to get dessert from Kilwins. If you have a sweet tooth this place will spoil you.
It really is a lovely place to visit. It takes you away from the parks and emerges you in small town America. We found the place truly fascinating and cannot wait to explore further. I feel we only touched a small part that this incredible place has to offer but it has certainly left us wanting to explore more.
